CAMI Introductory Statement for The $500 Billion Fix
Government services hemorrhage billions of taxpayer dollars year after year—principally not through isolated lapses or even individual fraud, but systemic breakdowns and a longstanding resistance to innovation and change. Outdated technology and business processes, fragmented administration, and nonexistent limited accountability leave taxpayers footing the bill, while service to qualified individuals, beneficiaries, and overall trust in critical public services deteriorate.
The mission of the Center for Accountability, Modernization and Innovation (CAMI) is to advocate for policies and processes that tackle those very challenges. At a time when the costs and effectiveness of the programs are under unprecedented scrutiny, CAMI believes that affording federal and state government entities relief from often stultifying and arcane policies and processes will unlock innovative solutions that dramatically reduce costs and improve performance, on behalf of the taxpayer and beneficiary alike.
This structural decay has unfolded over decades, compounded by the enormous weight of entrenched bureaucracies.
CAMI is introducing solutions.
